Nabi Musa AS du'a

"Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khairin faqiir."

I've found myself making that dua almost everyday after fardhu prayer. I just love the meaning, "Ya Allah, I am truly in need of whatever good that you have installed for me."

Just a few minutes ago when I was done with my maghrib prayer, I recited quran surah Al Qasas, verse 1 - 26 (I think). Turns out, that du'a is narrated in surah Al Qasas verse 24. And once I read the translation, I got a glimpse of the story behind that du'a.

So Nabi Musa AS was escaping his city because he accidentally killed one of Fir'aun's people who was oppressing Bani Israil. He then stopped near a well, and made that famous du'a. I can imagine how frightened you must be if you have to escape a city you were raised in because the oppressing group are after you and they want to murder you. Even in the surah it is described that Nabi Musa AS was afraid.

After he made that du'a, he saw 2 women, he helped them, and soon one of them became his wife.

...

I'm just saying... my tests in this world are nothing compared to Nabi Musa AS. He was put on this earth to face Fir'aun.

But anyway, I come to realize that, now that I know the context of it, this du'a is such a gentle, humble, and yet powerful dua to make... isn't it?

I'm not demanding, I'm not asking for luxury or anything. It's like saying, I'm submitting my life to You, ya Allah. In this time of tests and tribulation, where I feel exhausted and discomfort and fear, I ask for any goodness that You have written for me. Any goodness from Your side. And I submit myself to You that it is for my highest good.
